Yahoo Photos, currently the largest photo sharing site on the internet, is going to be shut down in favor of Flickr, which Yahoo acquired in 2005.
For users of Yahoo Photos, migrating to Flickr will be a one-click process, however Yahoo are not forcing users to move to Flickr only. Instead, they’ll be giving users the option of Flickr, along with a number of other non-Yahoo owned photo sharing sites, such as Photobucket, Shutterfly or Snapfish.
Yahoo Photos hosts about 2 billion photos, whereas Flickr hosts 500 million. Despite this, Flickr has been growing at a much faster rate, with traffic now exceeding that for Yahoo Photos.

Photoshop’s man of mayhem, Russell Brown has teamed up with FX guru John McConnell to create a short film, Software Pirates of the Carribean. Produced by Photoshop Films, the film was created to show the new 3D effects and other features available in Photoshop CS3 Extended. It’s worth a look, if only to see what a very elaborate ad looks like. And no Russell Brown’s were harmed in the making of the film.
