Random Acts of Dao

Went out for an after dinner walk last night. As I was about to leave, I heard the sounds of lots of fireworks being let off, and remembering that I’d seen a lot of Gods walking through the streets earlier in the day, I grabbed a camera and some earplugs and went in search of the noise. I finally caught up with everything down near the train station and found that it was a decent sized Daoist march through the streets, complete with fireworks, flares, KTV girls, flags, decorated cars, the 8 generals and some Gods. All these were shot at ISO1600 on a Canon EOS40D, and have had minimal or no noise reduction applied. The 40D is just fantastic when it comes to dealing with noise at high ISOs. Okay, I won’t give any commentary about the pictures, I’ll just let you enjoy them.

great night shots Craig. good call on the earplugs! i used to carry mine around with me in a small case. sometimes the noise level in Taiwan is unbearable. it was a good thing you could relax and concentrate on the shooting!
