Yangmingshan National Park

Craig March 31st, 2008

Yangmingshan National Park (陽明山國家公園) sits on the edge of Taipei city. With the 1120m Qixingshan (七星山) as the highest peak in northern Taiwan, Yangmingshan is a favored destination for hikers. This post is going to be just photos. Thanks to Todd at The Daily Bubble Tea for the inspiration behind them.

I have been longing to get my lazy self to yamingshan. Actually I made 2 trips there but every time weather played some antic on me. First it was sunny and clear when I started from jhongli but by the time I got there it started to rain like hell and I had to spent my time at starbucks on top of yamingshan. Second time it became all hazy and impossible to have a look around. Nevertheless I enjoyed your pictuers from yamingshan and felt encouraged to make one final attempt to see the beauty of yamingshan which I have only known through pictures like yours.

Terrific photos Craig. The waterfall pictures are gorgeous, but I think I like the picture of the hiker cresting the hill is one of my favorites. I’m also really drawn to the moss-covered branch. Your photography never fails to inspire me!
