It’s Friday so it must be time for this weeks 5. Previous weeks on 5 have seen essential links, a couple of photo posts, and some tips. This week, in keeping with the music theme of the last few days, we’re going to take a look at a 5 piece band, the Blue Sky Band. Read on for more.
As part of the 2009 Bitan Music Festival, the Blue Sky Band came out on a beautiful spring day to entertain the crowd. With my good friend MJ on guitar, the band played a set of Thai songs on the stage beside the river. MJ has a post with all the behind the scenes details at his site The New Hampshire Bushman, so be sure to check that out. I’ll leave you with a few more images from the show. Click on them for a larger view.
I don’t know about you, but I think MJ has a bit of a Jerry Garcia look going on here.
thanks Craig!
You're welcome. I'm looking forward to the Taoyuan stadium gig.
Great shots Craig! You're doing a lot of excellent gig photography lately!
Thanks Todd. I have quite a few more gigs lined up over the next couple of months, and possibly one gig that'll be very cool indeed – just waiting to hear back from the band in question (well, their management).
Todd is right, you have been posting some excellent concert shots lately. MJ certainly does have some of the Jerry Garcia going on, although not quite as unkempt as JG.
Darren, thanks for the comment. As I mentioned to Todd, there's a lot more coming in the next few months.
Yeah I am on board with the "excellent gig" commentary as well. It is not easy to get good concert shots. I like the recent "circus" work as well.
For me the bottom two images really stand out. Well done Craig.
Thanks again. Shooting concerts is fun – especially outdoors on a nice day.
Darren, i'm going to re-sequence my DNA.
Funny, I was standing right there! Watching that show.
Hmmm…
Brian
PS, I really love your work!
Thanks Brian, glad you could stop by. I might need a juggler for a shoot this summer – let me know if you're interested.
Yes, interested. For sure.
And I love to do photo shoots.
Keep me posted. I may go to China for a month.

Great, I'll let you know. I'll probably want to meet you for an hour or so one weekend for a test shoot first. Let me know your availability.
