After their gig at Bliss a couple of weeks ago, Spacefunk returned to the stage at VU Livehouse in Ximending, Taipei. Supporting the Moneyshot Horns (photos coming later this week), Spacefunk kicked things off close to midnight with their blend of funky electro tunes. I’ll let the pictures do the talking for now – don’t forget to click on them for the larger version. Shooting and technical notes are at the end of the post.
Shooting Notes – This was a much better venue for shooting than the last time I photographed Spacefunk. I mostly used the Canon EOS 5D Mk II at ISO ranging from 1600 up to 6400. The Canon EOS 40D was used for a handful of shots at ISO1600. Lenswise, the better stage lighting allowed me to shoot quite a bit with a 70-200mm f4L, which was shot either wide open or at f5.6. I also used the 17-40mm at the same apertures and 50mm at either f2.8 or f5.6 at different times throughout the night. Everything was shot in manual with shutter speeds varying according to the lens. Most of the photos taken with the long zoom had a shutter speed of either 1/80 or 1/125. The normal and wide lens were generally shot at 1/50 or 1/30.
