Shutterbug Sunday goes to Singapore this week to feature Wong Kin Leong, better known as WahliaoDotCom, photographer for the Singapore Tourism Board and their Uniquely Singapore campaign.
Shifting effortlessly between genres, alternating color with black and white, architecture with weddings, lifestyle and personal projects gives wahliaodotcom a unique style. The images capture the bustle of the city while also showing the beauty of humanity.
Along with previous featured photographers Ilan Bresler (featured June 21st) and Francesco Gallerotti (featured June 28th), WahliaoDotCom was behind the Around The World, Street Photography in BNW project, along with 3 other photographers.
He currently has 6 separate photo series underway. These include :
Portfolio – my visions starts with a cosmopolitan Singapore. Textures intricately woven into our society and represented by our people, our culture, our architecture, and most of all our strive, the building blocks of a society.
Lifestyle – Given any other job in this world, I would have just been a fish out of water, but photography takes me to a land where I share with friends from all over. They show me photos from their world, and in return, I show them mine. So, World, this is the lifestyle of Singapore.
Architecture – We are what our buildings provide us.” Solitude, Peace, Protection, and Comfort. I am greatly influenced by what my surroundings are, that my thoughts are instantly, for the better understanding of what I think, inspired by what our architecture brings to my conscious mind.
Monochrome – I saw laughter, sadness, family, friends, and emotions represented in monochrome. That, my Holy Grail of photography, is where I live, breathe and for my years to come, my constant love.
Work – As I continue working as a photographer, the opportunities and experiences that is provided to me to see more of the world, the diversity, the stories untold and the unknown always presents itself to me in the form of work. My clients provides challenges that gets me looking all excited and raring to go
Continuation – Renewal, a continuation of me, a rejuvenation of my self and my ideas. Everyday passes by with me learning to fly slightly higher and more grateful than ever.

Honored to be the first to comment about such a great guy and photographer. And I'll use this opportunity to thank Wong Kin(g!) Leong for his involvement and hard work on the 'Around the World' project. Plus, he really became a good friend, and all that just by using 140 chars at a time.
