Over here in Taiwan we’re currently feeling the lingering effects of typhoon Morakot. Over in London meanwhile, there’s a new photographer on the scene, one who seeks to show viewers the London that isn’t shown on postcards. Shutterbug Sunday today looks at James D Photo.

Relatively new to photography, James has been living in London for a decade and photographing it for a year. Starting out with an interest in architecture, James says,

this quickly developed into a fascination with the city as a whole. I’m fascinated by man’s impact on the city and the city’s impact on man. Whilst it is an incredible city to live in, it is also hugely stressful, and I try and capture this darker side of it. I want to show the alternative side to London’s typical postcard scenes

Like all large cities London changes daily, and I want to document the role humans have on it, whether it is a new building or a piece of street art. Whilst most photographers have a number of projects on the go that they are working on, my project is London.
