In the spotlight this week on Shutterbug Sunday is Texas based photographer Keith Peeler. Keith is a documentary styled photographer whose recent trip to Uganda led to the Gulu Illuminated project.

Keith Peeler has been a photographer since 1995 when he took his first photography course at Louisiana State University. Since then he has developed his craft and his passion for photography. Using a keen eye and a sense for events unfolding around him, his work is a combination of photojournalism, portraiture, and abstract art. He has traveled to Cuba, Romania, Africa, Mexico, and various parts of the continental U.S. to capture people and their stories.

His recent travels to Gulu, Uganda inspired his recent project entitled Gulu Illuminated. His work is an attempt to reveal the effects of war torn Northern Uganda from the barbaric acts of the Lord’s Resistance Army while raising money to help heal their country.
