From Brooklyn to Taiwan. This week, Shutterbug Sunday looks at Mark Forman aka the BBluesman.
Before we continue, don’t forget that there’ll be a mini photowalk in Taipei this afternoon (Sunday August 30th) for anyone who’s in the area. Meeting point is Liuzhangli MRT station at 4pm. The MRT line is still off, so take the free buses instead. The walk is going to go to Tunghua night market, so we should be there (Keelung Rd entrance) around 5pm. All welcome, no bookings necessary, just turn up. My phone number is in the contact tab at the top of the page for if you get lost and need to call.
Ok, after the jump, we’ll continue with the spotlight on Mark.
Mark was born in Brooklyn,NY where he often engaged in people watching and architectural discovery walks on his weekly trips into Manhattan. He also participated and promoted live music events in NYC. He left NY for Tucson and the desert of Arizona where he attended the University of Arizona. It was here that Mark learned Mandarin Chinese and started planning a trip to Taiwan to further his language skills and get a deeper understanding of the culture.
Mark has a manufacturing business here in Taiwan and over the last couple of years he has been working on his new passion: photography. Mark always had a great love for viewing images but it has only been the last couple of years that he has been busy taking photographs. He is primarily involved in spontaneous street photography but also enjoys still life images from here in Taiwan.
Mark’s work can be found on his website Color*Sound*Word and you can connect with the man himself on Twitter where he’s known as @BBluesman.
