Looking at Craft and Vision

Bored market vendor.

Craft is usually defined as a particular skill, often in the artistic field. Vision at its simplest is the ability to see and perceive and can also refer to artistic inspiration. Put them together and you have Craft and Vision, the photographic eBook store that’s full of inspiration.

Beginning with Ten and then Ten More in summer 2009, David duChemin has created a resource for photographers that is both inspiring and educational. As I write this, there are 14 releases available from 5 different authors, with a 15th eBook from a new author due to be released in a few days. All resources are available as either a PDF eBook or an iPad app.

The Craft and Vision releases are affordable ($5 each) covering a wide range of subjects. From simple photographic techniques to the thinking process behind a shot, black and white photography to video, Craft and Vision has titles to satisfy photographers of all abilities and interests.

Titles released so far include :

  • Ten
  • Ten More
  • Drawing The Eye
  • Chasing The Look
  • The Inspired Eye I
  • The Inspired Eye II
  • Growing The Visionmonger
  • Below The Horizon
  • The Magic of Black and White – Vision
  • The Magic of Black and White – Craft
  • Vision Is Better
  • Venice : A Monograph
  • Vision In Motion
  • Safari : A Monograph
  • Chasing Reflections – to be released in a few days
  • The recently revamped website now has space for user reviews and comments. Navigation is easier, with a cleaner interface, there’s a discount button where you can get 20% off if buying the whole collection and until August 31st, any review you leave goes into the running for a 16GB Wifi iPad.

That was the 206th Daily PhotoTip. If this post was useful to you, why don’t you subscribe to my feed, leave a comment and share it with your friends. You can also get access to exclusive content and special offers by subscribing to my newsletter. Sign up today. Thank you.
