Chris Orwig, author of the excellent photography book, Visual Poetry: A Creative Guide for Making Engaging Digital Photographs is an inspiration to many photographers. Traveling the world to bring home creative images in addition to his teaching work at Brooks Institute, he brings an engaging poetic style to photography that captivates viewers. Chris subscribes to Marc Riboud’s observation that “Photography is about savoring life at 1/100th of a second.” He recently gave a short talk at a TEDx event in California that is packed full of insight and inspiration.
*TED x is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. http://www.ted.com/tedx
For anyone who’s not familiar with the work of Chris Orwig, I urge to to check out his portfolios, his blog and the book Visual Poetry.
