Honors first and that comes via Scott Kelby. This year for the first time, he had a leader’s contest from the annual Worldwide Photowalk. Speaking from my own experience, and also based on what I’ve heard from others who’ve led photowalks, much of the time is spent organizing checking on people and trying to make things run smoothly when you host a photowalk. As such, not much gets photographed by the group leaders. This year, thanks in part to the atrocious weather we had, there wasn’t much of that to do on location which meant I actually got to create a few photographs. The Way To Heaven, seen above, was chosen by Scott Kelby to go in his leaders gallery, so I’m pretty happy with that. Head over to the gallery and check out the other great photographs including the winning entry.
Inspiration time. I actually had another post planned for today but that will now come later this week. After seeing the video below, I couldn’t not embed it and share it for those who haven’t had the chance. As a travel photographer and a visual peacemaker, one of the things I strive to do is show the beauty and value of the world and its cultures and environments. Nothing however can quite compare to the view from space in a time lapse of the planet shot from the International Space Station on a special low-light 4K camera. Visuals like this should reinforce that everyone everywhere is part of the 100%. We have a lot more in common than we have differences.
