Day one of a four day assignment that sees me out of town for a few days. Things started okay, with a dry morning but by 11am the rain started and we ended up doing a lot of our photography while standing under umbrellas. Still, we managed to hit every location that was on the list and get something from them. One site that we hadn’t been too sure about proved to offer a lot of potential but we didn’t have enough time there to fully explore it. It’s definitely on my list of places to return to as soon as possible so I can photograph it more thoroughly.
The postcard from the road above was one of my last shots of the day. ISO50, f22 and 8 secs was the exposure taken in the dying light at the end of the day. This is just a quick processing job for now, I’ll revisit it when I’m home with a decent monitor to edit on. Although my laptop screen is calibrated, it doesn’t always look right to me, so I’m trusting in the engineers at X-Rite instead of my own eyes.
10pm now, and a 4.30am call tomorrow in order to be on deck shooting by 5, so will wrap it up. I’ll try and post another postcard tomorrow night. Hopefully the weather will be better.
