Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been busy photographing the Taipei City God Festival at the Xiahai Temple. During one of the main ritual days, a couple of different lion dances were held. The lion dance has a long running history and importance in Chinese culture and can usually be seen performed at religious events, wedding ceremonies, traditional festivals, the opening of new businesses, welcoming honored guests and a number of other occasions. I was fortunate to receive some excellent access to the dance and was thus able to create the slideshow you can see below.
Another slideshow, this time from the pods I blogged about a couple of days ago. The photos in the slideshow are from both trips I’ve made there, and the music is Wolf by Mister M, used under a Creative Commons license. Enjoy.
